A meeting of the Board of
Airlines Representatives operating in the Kingdom and with the
participation of representatives of the General Authority of Civil
Aviation at Jeddah Hilton on Tuesday, 8 Shaaban 1439H corresponding to
24 April 2018. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Essam bin Abdul Halim
Al-Maimani Chairman of the Board of Airlines Representatives operating
in the Kingdom and with the participation of Mr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al
Otaibi, Assistant President for Economic Policy and Air Transport at
the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Board welcomed
the attendance, pointing out the importance of such meetings aimed at
coordinating the efforts between the members of the Board and the
Authority to enhance the role in upgrading the services provided to the
valued passengers. The Assistant Professor of Economic Policies and Air
Transport spoke about the importance of cooperation between the General
Authority for Civil Aviation Airlines operating in the Kingdom doubt.
BARSA meeting was held in
the Kingdom, where representatives from all aviation companies and
airlines operating in the Kingdom, joined together for a meeting at the
Al Noor hall at Meridian hotel in Jeddah earlier this month.
The meeting was led by the Assistant Vice President of Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia Sales and Chairman of the Board of the ‘Saudi Aviation
Club’, Mr. Essam bin Abdulhalim Al Maimani.
Other participants included, Vice President of the Saudi Aviation Club,
Mr. Hamad bin Khalaf Al Noa’mani, General Manager of Oman Air in Saudi
Arabia, and Secretary General of the Council, Mr. Fahah Al Sobhani, in
addition of representatives from other airlines within the Kingdom.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Al Maimani welcomed the
attendants, confirmed the importance of such forums that aim to
coordinate the efforts between council members and enhance the role of
airlines and the services they provide to passengers, in particular
during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
Mr. Al Maimani reinforced SAUDIA’s commitment to continue enhancing the
cooperation and coordination with government departments at the
airports to apply the procedures and regulations and discuss the
approved fee structure and working mechanism that ensures smooth
operations for all parties..
During the meeting airline timetables and scheduling matters were
reviewed, in addition to participants also making recommendations and
decisions with respect to operating procedures and necessary

The Board of
the Airlines Representatives - Saudi Arabia (BARSA) convened its annual
meeting under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-Hazmi - Deputy
Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines, Chairman of BARSA, on
Sunday 2nd of Dhu al-Qadah 1431H corresponding to 10th of October 2010G
at Jeddah Meridian Hotel in the presence of both the Representatives of
the concerned government authorities and the Managers of the airline
companies operating in the Kingdom to discuss the preparations
regarding the Hajj season of the current Hegira year.
In his opening speech on this occasion, the Chairman of BARSA reviewed
the efforts exerted by both Saudi Arabian Airlines ad the other airline
companies participating in the process of Hajj operations to promote
the service standards provided to the pilgrims on board of their
respective Hajj flights as well as in all the other service locations.
All of these were carried out as he said, within the framework of the
tremendous services, our beloved country used to provide to the
pilgrims according to the kind directions of the Government of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his faithful HRH the Crown
Prince, referring in this respect also to the direct instructions of
both HRH Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Premier, Minister of
Interior and Chairman of the High Hajj Committee and HRH Prince Khalid
Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region, Chairman of the Central Hajj
Committee. H.E. the Chairman of BARSA appreciated the existing
cooperation between the airline companies, all the concerned government
areas and the airline companies operating in the Kingdom, the thing
which, he said, contributed in the achievement of the common objectives
and in the opening of new horizons for more cooperation and improvement
of the service levels rendered. H.E. also expressed his utmost pleasure
and appreciation for the big and tangible role, the BARSA is playing in
the promotion and development of air transport industry in the Kingdom
and in the consolidation of the existing cooperation and commercial
relationships between Saudi Arabian Airlines and all the airline
companies operating in the Kingdom.
The meeting discussed also in details all the preparations for the
coming Hajj season and the efforts exerted in the service of the
pilgrims. The airline companies were asked to strictly abide by the
official instructions and their execution from the date of the arrival
of the pilgrims until their departure.

Mr. Aymen al-Omairi - Deputy Chairman of BARSA and Dr. Ayed Al-Amri -
Secretary General of BARSA presided a special meeting of BARSA on
Sunday 7th of March, 2010 at Jeddah Meridian Hotel to discuss certain
commercial and operational issues pertaining to BARSA members. Both the
Management of King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and the
Operating company (CHANGI) made a presentation about the major
achievements realized, as well as the achievements made by the
Simplifying the Business (StB) working team. They also reported about
automated issuance of boarding passes and automated baggage handling.
Mr. Nassir al-Satti - GM, IATA in the Kingdom and Yemen reviewed the
results of the report of the last visit of the IATA Expert regarding
the baggage problems in the three airports of the Kingdom in Jeddah,
Riyadh and Dammam and the solutions to these problems. After that the
BARSA members discussed the report submitted by the Chairman of the
Airport Operation Committee (AOC) at King Abdul Aziz International
Airport in Jeddah regarding 1430H. Haj season and the obstacles and
difficulties that were encountered and the proposed solutions of the
same. The BARSA members also discussed the proposal by the
Administrative Team of the Board and which was approved by the Chairman
of BARSA. Such proposal assigns certain roles to the BARSA members in
representing the Board in a way that is suitable to the current market
developments of the air transport industry within the Kingdom,
including the establishment of two smaller committees in the following
Establishment of a smaller sub-committee from BARSA members to discuss
the various subjects e.g. meeting with the General Authority of Civil
Aviation (GACA) to coordinate all the related issues between (GACA) and
the airline companies operating in the Kingdom, specially the
operational problems and the duplication between GACA and the various
governmental departments and authorities in the circulars sent directly
to the airline companies as well as the discussion of the commercial
issues that concern the airline companies, e.g. the contract submitted
by the company responsible for the development of the Haj Terminal.
Constitution of another committee from the BARSA members to be
responsible for Haj and Umrah issues, due to the importance of the Haj
and Umrah activities to many of the airline companies. Its main
function shall be coordination with the concerned areas and official
authorities in solving the problems and difficulties that confront
operation as well as the convening of an annual meeting with the same,
similarly as practiced in the Haj season.

and GM Bilateral & Commercial Agreements in Saudia, Dr. Ayed T.
Al-Amri announced that such annual meetings with concerned government
bodies facilitate and contribute in the understanding of the airline
companies of the government's Hajj requirements and at the same time
contribute in the mutual exchange of constructive ideas between the two
parties, the thing which will in turn lead to the improvement of the
services rendered at both King Abdul Aziz International Airport in
Jeddah and Prince Muhammad Bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Al-Madinah during
the Haj season of this year as per the guidance of the government of
the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Crown Prince and the Second
Premier as well as the auspices and support of HE Engineer Khalid Bin
Abdul Allah Al Molhem, the Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines.
The representatives of the various concerned government bodies such as
the Ministry of Haj, GACA and the Ministry of Health reviewed the
procedures and instructions concerning the various Haj activities,
while MPPDC Company Ltd. which is responsible for the operation and
development of the Haj Terminal at KAIA in Jeddah gave a detailed
presentation about the new operational procedures at Haj Terminals.
Moreover, the observations and requirements of the airline companies
operating in these terminals regarding the said procedures were also
